Circular Exhibition
As part of the Conference Day on 6 October, universities, startups, and small and large companies will showcase innovative circular economy solutions in an interactive exhibition. The Circular Exhibition offers visitors the opportunity to explore new ideas, connect with exhibitors and discover solutions for a more circular and resource-efficient future.
eChemicles
eChemicles is a Hungarian deep-tech company that has developed a patented and award-winning low-temperature CO₂ electrolysis technology to support industrial decarbonization and the creation of a circular economy. Our solution enables hard-to-abate industries to convert captured carbon dioxide (CO₂) on-site into carbon monoxide (CO) using renewable electricity. CO is a critical feedstock for the production of chemicals, steel, plastics, fuels, and many other essential products. By transforming emissions into valuable resources, our technology reduces dependence on fossil feedstocks, strengthens industrial circularity, and contributes to more sustainable and resilient supply chains.
Fashion Revolution Hungary
Fashion Revolution Hungary is the Hungarian branch of the global Fashion Revolution movement, working to accelerate the transition to a sustainable and circular fashion industry through education, community engagement and cross-sector collaboration. Our initiatives—including workshops, upcycling fashion shows, exhibitions, education, presentations and corporate partnerships—promote waste reduction, longer garment lifecycles, responsible consumption and greater transparency across the fashion value chain. We connect local designers, businesses, policymakers and consumers to develop practical solutions and foster systemic change towards a circular economy in fashion.
Malagrow Waste
Malagrow Waste aims to support the circular economy in Hungary through innovative waste management solutions. We provide companies and institutions with waste balers, compactors and other waste management equipment, as well as expert support, to ensure that different material streams are returned to the circular economy as efficiently as possible. At the exhibition, we will be showcasing the PETman bottle and can collection container, which transforms selective collection into an awareness-raising and community-building experience. PETman facilitates the separate collection of PET bottles and aluminium cans in schools, universities, offices and community spaces, whilst fostering new partnerships between businesses and civil society organisations, linking environmental protection, social responsibility and the circular economy.
NaturCleaning (CudyFuture Kft.)
Since its foundation, Cudy Future Ltd. has operated according to the principles of the circular economy, waste prevention, resource efficiency and the extension of packaging life cycles. In Hungary, the NaturCleaning brand pioneered a bottle return system. Customers can return empty packaging free of charge in the original delivery box. Collected bottles are inspected, cleaned and refilled, reducing the use of single-use packaging and primary raw materials. Delivery boxes made from recycled paper are processed into protective filling material after return. For NaturCleaning, circularity is not a stand-alone project but an operating model integrated into product development, manufacturing and logistics.
Superwrap
Superwrap turns corporate waste into value. For over two years, we have partnered with hotels, MNCs and tertiary institutions in Hong Kong to collect surplus textiles and uniforms, upcycling them into products like reusable beeswax food wraps and closing the loop on waste. Building on this, we are developing an AI-powered platform linking corporates directly with upcycling manufacturers – matching surplus volumes, automating quotes, and generating sustainability reports. Textiles is our starting point, but our ambition is broader: applying the same model to other waste streams too. As Europe moves toward mandatory Extended Producer Responsibility, our platform helps corporations stay compliant while manufacturers gain reliable demand. We are expanding from Hong Kong into Europe and the UK.
Center for Systems Innovation (CSI)
The Center for Systems Innovation (CSI) is an education and consulting company using systems approaches to advance sustainable development, circular economy and innovation. Through EU-funded projects, we work with schools, universities, businesses and communities. We develop interactive learning materials, e-learning courses, games, workshops and challenge-based programmes that make circular thinking and sustainability skills understandable and applicable. At the exhibition, we will showcase our circular-economy education projects and tools.
University of Szeged
Showcasing the University of Szeged’s scientific expertise through national and international research activities, projects, and innovations that address environmental challenges, social responsibility, sustainability, and the circular economy across the natural sciences, life sciences, humanities, and social sciences. Featured topics include synthetic liquid fuel (e-fuel), the Energy Innovation Test Station, catalytic brick for cleaner air, microbiological and compost samples, water filtration membranes, alternative protein sources, and innovative projects developed by students.
University of Pannonia Nagykanizsa Circular Economy University Center
The University Center considers the circular economy approach as the basis of its educational, research and social activities. The Circular Strategy Navigator is a methodology supports the strategic assessment of companies’ circular economy maturity. It evaluates readiness across six key dimensions: systems thinking, innovation, commitment, collaboration, value optimization, and transparency. Based on the results, a practical decision-support framework identifies company-specific development priorities and guides the transition toward circular business models. In addition we research and develop innovative water treatment and water recycling solutions to support circular water management. Our technological solutions contribute to reducing water consumption, enabling water reuse, and promoting sustainable industrial operations.
Eötvös Loránd University (ELTE)
Eötvös Loránd University (ELTE) is Hungary’s leading research university and a prominent institution in international partnerships, committed to strengthening sustainability in education, research and university operations. At the Circular Economy Hotspot exhibition, alongside the University’s Sustainability Flagship Program, ELTE will present the Faculty of Science’s multidisciplinary service portfolio most closely related to the event’s professional focus, as well as the supporting one-stop collaboration model of the Central Research and Industrial Relations Center, which connects business and institutional needs with research-based solutions. The exhibition will also feature the ELTE Together for Environmental Consciousness volunteer program, which promotes sustainable operations, savings and awareness raising.
Lidl Hungary
As Hungary’s market-leading grocery retail chain, Lidl Hungary has been present in the country for more than two decades. The company operates 220 stores and four logistics centres and employs around 9,500 people, while placing a strong emphasis on sustainability and responsible resource management. As part of the Schwarz Group, Lidl has expanded its former “REset Plastic” framework into a broader global resource management strategy, “REset Resources”. This comprehensive, closed-loop approach covers numerous areas of the company’s operations, from product development and packaging solutions to construction projects, food waste reduction and recycling.
MOME Center for Research at the Moholy-Nagy University of Art and Design
The MOME Center for Research at the Moholy-Nagy University of Art and Design explores sustainable futures through design-driven, interdisciplinary research. At the Circular Economy Hotspot conference, we present projects that apply circular economy principles in practice. ZACC develops design interventions using spent coffee grounds from the MOME campus to promote environmental awareness and turn climate anxiety into action. COMPO creates new materials and objects from organic waste, while the Coffee Chaff Biocompositeproject transforms coffee roasting by-products into sustainable materials for interior design and construction. Together, these projects demonstrate how design can drive circularity and sustainable innovation.
