Freek van Eijk is the CEO of Holland Circular Hotspot (HCH), an independent, action-oriented platform that facilitates the international transition to a circular economy by bringing together government authorities, knowledge institutes, and particularly businesses. HCH supports knowledge exchange with the aim of stimulating entrepreneurship in the field of the circular economy. HCH acts as the orchestrator of a growing global movement, connecting Circular Economy Hubs and catalyzing Circular Economy Hotspot events across continents.

Freek van Eijk served as co-chair of the Coordination Group of the EU Circular Economy Stakeholder Platform (ECESP) between 2020 and 2025. He has also served for many years as Vice Chair of the Circular Biobased Delta and the Dutch Waste Management Association.

He is currently a board member of the ISWA World Congress 2027 Foundation. In addition, he is an adjunct professor at LUISS Business School and serves on several governmental and private advisory committees, as well as on innovation award juries.
